After graduating, I worked for PsychoSolutions and the Institute for Child and Family Health Inc. In both agencies I provided mental health services to children and families within their communities. I had the opportunity to treat children and adolescents with ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, abuse, anger issues, oppositional defiance disorder among others.
I also worked at the Dharma Institute in Doral under the supervision of Dr. Cristina Sabroso.
I started my career as a linguist, professor and researcher. I have a Ph.D. in linguistics and I was a professor at FIU for several years. At FIU, I developed a research program to study language development in bilingual toddlers. This research was funded by National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
